He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Pollock. Gerry earned his BSc, MSc and PhD in geology from the University of Manitoba and Cal Tech. He had a very rewarding career in mineral exploration and work took him to many countries, especially in Latin America and Australia. He retired from Cameco as Vice President of Exploration. After retirement his love of the Spanish language led him to return to university to pursue Spanish courses. He studied Tai Chi and also taught it. He loved opera, classical music, and travel. Gerry remained a physically active man until shortly before his death. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man, accepting of all he met. Our time together was a blessing. Special thanks to the staff of Beckley Farm Lodge who gave such loving care to Gerry. A celebration of Gerrys life will take place at 1:30 on November 30 at the First Unitarian Church of Victoria, 5575 West Saanich Road (across from the Red Barn). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of B.C.
