Giovanna (Jody) Lucianna Legg was born January 31, 1942 in Mirandola, Italy, to her father Vambo and her mother Nella Bruna Borella. She was the second of 3 children, between Vanda and Franco (Frank). Life was hard in Italy after the war so the family emigrated to Canada and ultimately to northern British Columbia.
Despite all of the hardships in life, Jody maintained her love for God and his word, the Bible. As a young girl in Italy, she remembered how she loved it when the priest would take out the Bible and read from it. She even contemplated becoming a nun to better serve God.
Jody purchased a Deluxe Bible for herself but didn’t really understand it.
Things did not remain that way for long as ladies came by, talking about the Bible. She asked them to show her in her own Bible.
When Jody moved to Victoria she had a knock on the door from two ladies who talked about the Bible. She agreed to have discussions with them, using only the Bible and no other literature. Her
motive was to prove them wrong— but that didn’t work.
As she learned the truths in the Bible, she went to her priest, hoping for answers. But when he threw her Bible on the floor and said he wouldn’t give up his career over what was said in a book, she picked up her Bible, thanked him for making up her mind and never looked back. She blossomed into a zealous Witness, serving Jehovah faithfully right to the end. She pioneered for over 23 years, assisting many into the truth.
Jody was well-known for her generosity and hospitality, and was a vibrant, loving, artistic person who will be missed by all who knew her. With a passion for Opera and a beautiful voice, singing came naturally to her. Children were especially drawn to her as she sang praises to Jah.
Jody is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Legg (Rick). She had 2 children, son Giovanni (grandchildren Katie, Rachel, and Alexa), and her daughter Susan (husband Rob), (grandchildren) Erick, Chayse, Mariah (Riley, great grand daughter Scarlett),
Robbie, Shayden, and Lily. Additionally, her brother Frank and his daughter Alyssa.
Jody knew that when the day came for her to fall asleep in death that Jehovah would keep her in his memory
and is eagerly awaiting to bring her back to her family and friends.
