Obituary of Nathen BERNSHAW

Nathen Bernshaw February 10, 1947 - November 29, 2020 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Nathen Bernshaw of Victoria, B.C. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers John Cameron (Tee), Brad Cameron and sister Lynn Cameron, aunt and uncle Eleanor and Dr. John Roe, cousins Gloria Charlton (Ken), Doug MacIntyre, nephew Aaron Cameron (Stevie), Edward Chan and Nikki Wilkins. Nathen was born in North Bay, Ontario to Margaret (Roe) and Glenn Cameron. He studied at Texas Christian University and the University of Hawaii before returning to London, Ontario to work in real estate. He then moved to British Columbia and enjoyed 32 years of service (1982 to 2014) with the Victoria Real Estate Board. During that time he became a Real Estate Broker and was Managing Broker for Diversified Properties until his retirement. Interested in education and organizational development Nathen, along-side his work in real estate, became an ICA Facilitator. He was involved with ICA Associates from 1998 to 2014, representing them as the course sponsor for B.C. and Yukon from 2003 until 2014. A kind, generous, humorous and creative man, Nathen loved his family, his work and his community. He volunteered as a big brother and also for the B.C. Cancer Society in Victoria from 1992 to 2000. He had a special interest in smoking cessation programs and was an advocate for education on how to stop smoking. He was the Chair of Tobacco Use Reduction for the Vancouver Island Region, in 1992, Divisional Board Leader and in 2000, President and VP Regionally. Recreationally, he practiced yoga and was involved in running and walking races. We will hold you Nathen in our hearts always. An on-line service will be held at a date to be determined in early 2021. Special thanks to the staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria.
