Dean Thomas Mollon
May 7, 1954 – February 8, 2020
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Chef Dean Thomas Mollon after a protracted battle with cancer.
Dean was a charismatic man that lived a rich and full life. He had a deep sense of family, was a talented artist, painter, musician, story teller, friend, tennis fanatic and avid reader who was always studying something. He had many passions, one that he was most proud of was being an outstanding and loyal father and husband. Dean enjoyed the ocean and had a sailboat he loved, the Dancing Bare.
Dean was born in Hamilton, Ontario and came to the west coast to forge his future as Chef, Dean Mollon and had many enriching culinary experiences throughout Canada and made many lasting friendships. He lived in Ontario, Nelson, BC, Calgary, Salt Spring and Galiano Islands and lastly in Victoria, BC.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Shelley Ana Mollon, his daughters, Sierra (Dave) and Cezanne(Brett), beloved grandsons Bodhi and Kai, his best friend Simonne, nieces and nephews and many siblings whom he had the honor of being close to and others reconnecting with in the last year of his life.
It is Deans wish that those who are interested, explore their creativity and find joy in it as he did.
There will be no service at Dean’s request. Go in peace Dean. You are much loved and have left a lasting impression on many hearts.
