My husband, Mike, and I met John when we got involved with the BC NDP years ago. He immediately became one of our favourite people. His kindness, great sense of humour and commitment to social justice were only a few of his wonderful qualities. My best days at work were the ones when John and his friend, Dave, came to visit. I don't recall ever seeing John without a smile on his face. I won't try to describe how sad we are at his passing and how much we miss him. There are no words.

John welcomed me into his circle of friends a few years ago. His sense of humour, dignity and love for people were just a few of his qualities I enjoyed. He expressed the love and pride he had for his family any chance he got. I am so happy I had the opportunity to know John. He will be missed by so many!

We knew John from his many years as a commissionaire at the Brandon armoury and we stayed in touch after he went to BC. Such a great guy just to talk to. He was in part responsible for Marilyn and I meeting which I will always be grateful for.
I knew John when he worked at the Brandon Armoury. As a young soldier I learned a great deal just listening to John relive his soldiering days. John was a super guy and a fine gentleman. Stand Easy John.
