Neil's long and diverse professional life began as a family counsellor. After joining BC Corrections Services he was employed in many capacities including Corrections Officer, Probation Officer, Custody Investigator and later with the Ministry of Attorney General as a Family Justice Mediator. Retiring after 38 years of service to the greater Victoria community, Neil joined the Corps of Commissionaires in September 2009 and became an important part of the HQ team in recent years as the Supervisor of Identification Services.
His various roles gave Neil the privilege of positively impacting many lives. His servant heart was always open, willing and as generous as his smile which constantly provided evidence of the joy with which he embraced each new day. He made a conscious choice to "practice the presence" of every person who had contact with him.
