Dehne, Erika Erna Anna (September 20 1927 to August 31 2019). Erika was born in Eberswalde Germany to August Dehne and Anna Sass, into a family of eight children many of whom died in World War II. Erika was the last of the family having been predeceased by her younger brother Bruno in 2018. Erika is survived by her beloved son Christopher (Julia) and granddaughters Miranda and Kimberleigh, and grandson Aaron, sister in law Jan Dehne, niece Maxine (Preet Khalsa), nephew Craig (Kathleen Roy). Erika loved working and was a housekeeper until she came to Canada in August 1961. She lived briefly in Toronto then settled in Kitchener where she met Christopher’s dad Peter Trops (deceased). She worked for Smiles ‘N Chuckles Chocolate, Uniroyal, and finally for Kitchener Waterloo Hospital as a dietary aide until her retirement in late 1989. Erika spent her time between her cherished cottage at Point Clarke and her common law husband Ron Dunauskas (deceased) in Ariss, Ontario. When Erika moved to the Okanagan in 2003 to be with her son and his family she left behind many friends whom she never forgot. Because she was such a loving and supportive person Erika made many friends in West Kelowna including Malcolm Sutherland, her best friend and neighbour. Erika moved to Victoria in July 2017 with Christopher and his family. Erika had a long full rich life full of history, she loved her family so much, and we say goodbye with great sadness. Thank you to the nursing staff and doctors of Royal Jubilee Hospital for their care of Erika during her stay with them.
