It is with great sadness we share the passing of Bridget, a much loved wife, mother and friend. Bridget passed away peacefully, under her own terms, with her family by her side in Calgary; she retained her feistiness and awareness to the end. Bridget is already missed by her husband of 50 years, Nigel, her daughter “sweet” Caroline, “favourite” son-in-law Mike, granddaughter Breanna, and family and friends in Canada and Europe.
Bridget was born in Bristol, England. She entered into the nursing field at the age of 16 and spent all her working life nursing. Bridget emigrated to Canada in 1980 and fell in love with the people, country and way of life.
The family would like to thank Dr. Swiggum, Dr. Weir, Dr. Cheek of Victoria for the ongoing care of Bridget over the years. We would also like to thank all the staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary for their care, kindness and compassion over Bridget’s final days.
In lieu of flowers and to honour Bridget, please engage in a random act of kindness or help someone who needs a hand up in order to make a difference in this world.
As per Bridget’s wishes, a small family Green burial was held at Royal Oak Burial Park, Victoria.
